As you start your hike, you will come across the Hippo Haunt Restaurant & Bar, located just 0.2 kilometers from the start. This is a great place to grab a meal or a refreshing drink after your hike.

About midway through the route, you will find a campsite at the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary. This is a perfect spot to rest and maybe even spend the night if you're planning a longer expedition.

One of the highlights of this trail is a water point, located 1.46 kilometers from the start. Make sure to bring enough water for your journey, especially on hot days.

Overall, Hippo Trail is a relatively easy hike with a distance of 2.918 kilometers and an elevation gain of 76 meters. It is suitable for hikers of all levels of experience.
