You are about to embark on a challenging hike along the Sentier du Vialais trail. The route covers a distance of 11.392 kilometers with a total elevation gain of 594 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 4 hours and 7 minutes to complete.
The trail begins at a parking area, located right at the start of the hike. As you make your way along the path, you will come across various points of interest. About 2.39 kilometers into the hike, you will find the Hz cafe, a perfect spot to take a break and recharge.
Continuing on, at around 4.75 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Col du Salis, where you can learn more about the area at the information point. Nearby, you will also find the Col du Salis saddle, offering beautiful natural views.
As you approach the halfway point, at approximately 5.7 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter a striking rock formation, adding to the scenic beauty of the trail. Further along, at 0.82 kilometers from the start, you will find a drinking water station to refill your water bottles.
While the trail features some off-trail points of interest such as peaks and viewpoints, including Roc du Mayne, Roc du Salis, Le Serre, and Bau Filliti, please exercise caution if you decide to explore these areas as they are not directly on the trail.
Before setting off on this hike, make sure to bring an ample supply of water, as well as snacks to keep you fueled throughout the journey.
