This hiking route takes you through the stunning area of Chemin du Lac Bersau. The trail spans a distance of 9.799 kilometers with an elevation gain of 701.0 meters, making it a difficult trek that will take approximately 4 hours to complete.

Along the route, you will come across several points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, you will find the historic Borne 309 boundary stone, located 3.1 kilometers from the start. Further along at 2.28 kilometers, you will encounter the beautiful Ibón de Escalar lake.

For those looking to take a break, the Estación de Esquí Astún parking area is located right at the start of the trail. Additionally, the Col des Moines saddle is a perfect spot to rest at the 3.1 kilometer mark, offering a scenic view of the surroundings.

As you continue on your journey, you will pass by the informative Col des Moines information point and later reach the refreshing Lac du Plaa de las Basques at 3.63 kilometers. Be sure to stay hydrated by refilling your water bottles at the nearby springs, such as the one at 2.48 kilometers.

Before embarking on this challenging hike, be sure to pack plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast. And don't forget to visit the cafe located at 0.53 kilometers from the start for a delightful treat before or after your adventure.
