This challenging 11.8-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning mountainous area surrounding Lac Gentau. The trail starts at Parking de Bious-Oumettes and takes about 4 and a half hours to complete. With an elevation gain of 722 meters, this hike is considered difficult and is best suited for experienced hikers.
Along the way, you'll encounter several points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, you'll pass by Cabane de Bious-Oumette, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. As you continue on, you'll come across Lac du Miey and Cabane de Roumassot, offering you stunning views and a chance to rest.
About halfway through the hike, you'll reach Refuge d'Ayous, an alpine hut where you can refuel and recharge before heading back. This is also a great spot to take in the breathtaking scenery and snap some photos.
