This challenging hiking route will lead you to Rifugio Alpe Colma, starting at a parking area. The total distance of the trail is 5.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of 672 meters, taking approximately 2 hours and 57 minutes to complete.

As you begin your hike, you will come across a wayside shrine about 2.13 kilometers from the start. Further along the trail, at 2.11 kilometers, there is another historical wayside shrine to explore.

At the 2.75-kilometer mark, you will reach Rifugio Alpe della Colma, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the stunning mountain views. Nearby, there is another alpine hut called Rifugio Alpe Colma at the same distance. At this point, you will also find drinking water sources to refill your bottles.

Continuing on, around the 2.75-kilometer mark, you will reach Colma dei Prei, a scenic saddle along the route. It is advisable to carry enough water and snacks for this strenuous hike, and to check the weather forecast before setting out.
