This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail is an out-and-back route with a total distance of 4.221 kilometers and an elevation gain of 520 meters, making it a difficult hike that will test your endurance.
Starting at the parking area, you will follow the trail that leads you through the forest. Along the way, you will come across a drinking water fountain (Fontana) just 0.04 kilometers from the start, so make sure to fill up your water bottle before continuing on.
As you hike further, at 0.21 kilometers from the start, you will reach a junction that leads to Alpe Barco and Alpe Pianezzo. This is a good spot to take a break and enjoy the surroundings. Nearby, there is also an information point (bivio per Alpe Barco e Alpe Pianezzo) to learn more about the area.
Continuing on the trail, you will pass by a wayside shrine (wayside_shrine) at 0.03 kilometers from the start, adding a touch of history to your hike. Further ahead, at 0.32 kilometers from the start, you will find another drinking water fountain (Fontana) to stay hydrated.
At the halfway point of the hike, approximately 2.11 kilometers from the start, you will find the Specchio di Viganella, a must-see attraction in the area. This viewpoint offers breathtaking views, so be sure to take some time to appreciate the scenery before heading back.
