Welcome to this challenging hiking route in the beautiful area surrounding Alpbühelalm. This route is an out-and-back trail with a total distance of 6.884 kilometers and an elevation gain of 691 meters, making it a difficult hike that will test your endurance.
As you begin your hike, you will come across a parking area, which is located right at the start of the trail. If you need to park your car before embarking on this adventure, this is the perfect spot to leave your vehicle. Further along the trail, you will encounter a couple of benches where you can take a rest and enjoy the surrounding scenery.
Around 3.44 kilometers into the hike, you will reach Alpbühelalm, an alpine hut where you can take a break and perhaps enjoy some refreshments. This is a great midway point to refuel and recharge before continuing on the trail.
As you make your way back, you will pass by a couple of drinking water stations where you can replenish your water supply and stay hydrated throughout the hike. Additionally, there are information points along the trail, such as Astenberg and other historical landmarks, providing you with interesting insights into the area.
One of the highlights of this hike is reaching Burgaukopf, a peak located 1.78 kilometers off the trail. Although not directly on the path, the detour to this peak offers stunning panoramic views that are definitely worth the extra distance.
