This challenging 11.969 km circular hiking route will take you through a beautiful area with a total elevation gain of 1104.0 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is 5 hours and 31 minutes, so make sure to plan accordingly.
Starting at the parking area, you will begin your journey towards Monte Viglio, a historic wayside cross and peak located approximately 5.06 km from the start. As you continue on the trail, you will come across the Gendarme peak at around 5.44 km, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Along the way, you will also pass by the Madonnina wayside shrine (5.04 km), a picnic site at Colle Albaneti (1.51 km), and a drinking water fountain named Fontanile (0.21 km). Be sure to stay hydrated and bring enough water for the hike, especially on hot days.
At around 5.39 km, you will encounter a cave entrance, adding a sense of adventure to your journey. Further ahead, you will reach the historic boundary stone known as Cippo (4.91 km) and the natural spring Fontanile Casale (0.96 km).
