This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail is 12.544 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 880 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by a parking area within the first few meters. As you continue on, you will reach a shelter around the 5.33-kilometer mark, providing a nice resting spot along the way.
One of the highlights of this hike is the beautiful Lac des Merdeux, located at the 6.21-kilometer mark, and another one at 6.15 kilometers into the trail. These picturesque lakes provide a scenic spot to take a break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
About midway through the hike, at the 4.81-kilometer mark, you will come across a drinking water source, so make sure to refill your water bottles here. Additionally, at the 6.27-kilometer mark, you will reach Rifugio Pier Giorgio Frassati, an alpine hut where you can rest, get a meal, and enjoy the magnificent views.
