Located in the stunning Fiordland Community, the Key Summit Track offers hikers a moderate 6.7-kilometer out-and-back route with an elevation gain of 311 meters. The hike is estimated to take around 2 hours and 20 minutes to complete.
As you begin the hike, you'll come across "The Divide Shelter" just 0.05 kilometers from the start, providing a convenient resting spot. Continuing on, you'll reach "The Divide" parking area, where the trail officially starts.
Around midway through the hike at 3.35 kilometers, you'll encounter "Key Summit," a peak offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valley. Additionally, at this point, there is a natural water source for refilling your water bottles.
As you make your way back, be sure to stop and admire the "Amazing viewpoint over the Valley!" located off the trail at a distance of 3.35 kilometers. Additionally, keep an eye out for two picturesque waterfalls at 1.1 and 1.44 kilometers respectively.
