Welcome to the Ofenwald - Saalbach-Hinterglemm hiking route! This extremely difficult 20.212-kilometer out-and-back trail offers a challenging yet rewarding adventure for experienced hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, you'll pass by the P2 parking area before making your way through the lush forest. About 2.58 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across a water source where you can refill your bottles. As you continue, you'll reach a shelter at the 2.08-kilometer mark, providing a great spot to rest and enjoy the surroundings.
Around the 10.11-kilometer mark, you'll encounter several more water sources along the trail, perfect for a quick break to rehydrate. Further along, at 8.8 kilometers, you'll find the Gasteg peak, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Throughout the hike, you'll also come across several historic waypoints, such as wayside shrines and information points, adding cultural and educational value to your journey.
