This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Colle Ara del Pero. The trail is 20.561 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 647 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will take approximately 6 hours and 22 minutes to complete.

As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area just 0.05 kilometers from the trailhead, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on the hike. Just a short distance away, at 0.12 kilometers from the start, you will find a historic castle, offering a glimpse into the area's past.

During your hike, you will encounter several points of interest such as Fonte Valle Pietra, Fonte Aliucci, and Fontana Frodani, where you can replenish your water supply and take a break. These fountains are located at various points along the trail, providing much-needed refreshment for weary hikers.

At the midway point of the hike, approximately 10.28 kilometers from the start, you will reach Colle Ara del Pero, a scenic peak that offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. This makes for a perfect spot to rest and enjoy the fruits of your labor before heading back.

As this is an out-and-back route, you will retrace your steps on the way back, passing by the same points of interest once again. Remember to bring an ample water supply and check the weather forecast before setting out on this challenging hike.
