This extremely difficult 14.408 km out-and-back hike takes you on the Howe Sound Crest Trail in the Elaho/Garibaldi area. The trail offers stunning views of Howe Sound and the surrounding mountains, making it a popular choice for experienced hikers.
You will start your journey at the trailhead parking lot, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this challenging adventure. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across several points of interest.
At around 6.98 km into the hike, you will find the Brunswick Lake Emergency Shelter, a wilderness hut that can serve as a resting spot or emergency shelter if needed. Further along the trail, at approximately 7.17 km, you will reach Brunswick Lake, a beautiful spot to take in the serene surroundings and relax by the water.
As you continue on, at 5.74 km, you will reach Hat Pass, a natural saddle that offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, perfect for a photo opportunity. Additionally, at 1.02 km, you will find Sleepless Night Viewpoint, another scenic spot to pause and appreciate the beauty of the area.
Throughout the hike, you will also come across various water sources, providing opportunities to refill your bottles and stay hydrated. Remember to bring an adequate supply of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear, as the trail's length and elevation gain make it a challenging trek.
