This hiking route takes you through the scenic area surrounding Rocca Pia. The 16.196 km trail is considered extremely difficult, with an elevation gain of 791.0 meters, so make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks for the journey. It is recommended to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging hike.
As you start your adventure, you will come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail. About 1.76 km into the hike, you will find a restaurant called Il Faggeto, where you can stop for a meal if needed. Further along the trail, at approximately 2.3 km in, you will encounter the Fonte di Sant. Antonio fountain.
Around 6.26 km into the hike, you will reach the peak known as Bosco di Sant'Antonio, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. The trail continues to two more peaks, each offering unique perspectives of the landscape.
Throughout the hike, there are several drinking water spots available, so you can refill your water bottle and stay hydrated. Make sure to visit the Fonte Macchiaduni and fonte Bucchianico along the way for a refreshing drink.
As you make your way back towards the starting point, take a moment to rest at the picnic site located at approximately 2.13 km from the start. The trail offers a challenging but rewarding experience for hikers looking to explore the beauty of Rocca Pia and its surroundings.
