This hiking route takes you to the stunning Pic de Néouvielle in the Pyrenees. The 7.7-kilometer trail has an elevation gain of 885 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast before heading out.
Starting at the parking area, you'll pass the Refuge du Lac d'Aubert about 0.07 kilometers into the hike. This shelter provides a nice resting spot with beautiful views. Further along the trail, at around 0.3 kilometers in, you'll come across the Zone de Bivouac du Lac d'Aubert, a campsite perfect for overnight stays.
Around 1.05 kilometers from the start, you'll find a water source which can be useful for refilling your water bottles. As you continue on, at approximately 3.85 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach the peak of Néouvielle, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Throughout the trail, you'll also come across informational points and attractions such as the Neouvielle landmark at the same distance as the peak. For those looking for accommodation options, the Abri hivernal du lac d'Aubert wilderness hut is located about 0.07 kilometers from the start.
