This challenging hiking route will take you to the peak of Pico Hato, offering breathtaking views along the way.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by a picnic site located just 25 meters from the trail. It's a great spot to rest and enjoy a meal before continuing your ascent. As you make your way up, you will reach a spring at 2.73 kilometers from the start, a perfect place to refill your water bottle.
At around 3.28 kilometers into the hike, you will come across another peak, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. The trail then leads you to Collado Puerto de Horcadas, a saddle point located at 3.33 kilometers from the start.
Continuing on, you will reach Pico Hato, the highest point of the hike, at 4.04 kilometers from the start. From here, you can marvel at the stunning vistas before retracing your steps back to the trailhead.
This out-and-back route covers a distance of 8.082 kilometers with an elevation gain of 601 meters, making it a difficult yet rewarding journey. Make sure to bring plenty of water, pack some snacks, and check the weather forecast before you embark on this adventure.
