This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Pilón del Argayo and Vereda de Matascalientes. The trail is 6.258 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 465 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike that will take approximately 2 hours and 36 minutes to complete.

As you start your journey, you will come across the Monasterio de San Martín de Alión, a historic site located right at the beginning of the trail. As you continue, about 0.83 kilometers in, you will find the Teleclub "La Escuela" where you can stop for a quick snack or refreshment.

Along the way, you will also pass by the Caseta de la Traviesa, a wilderness hut located about 2.76 kilometers from the start, providing a great resting spot for hikers. Make sure to stay hydrated by refilling your water bottle at the Fuente del pueblo, a spring located 0.8 kilometers from the start.

For nature enthusiasts, there are several points of interest to explore, such as the Cueva de la Vieja El Monte and El Castro, a peak, both located off the trail but within a short distance.
