This extremely difficult hiking route will take you to the stunning area surrounding Refuge de Campana de Cloutou, starting at the parking area. The trail, "Sentier du Pic de Portarras," spans a total distance of 13.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of 787 meters, making it a challenging yet rewarding trek.
Along the way, hikers will come across various points of interest. About 6.5 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the picturesque Refuge du Campana de Cloutou, an alpine hut where weary hikers can rest and take in the breathtaking views. Further along the trail at 1.5 kilometers in, you'll find the Cabane de Barrassé, a wilderness hut offering a rustic experience for those looking to spend the night in the mountains.
As you continue on your journey, you'll encounter Laquette de Gréziolles and Réservoir des Laquets, two beautiful natural water features located at 5.82 kilometers and 4.05 kilometers from the start of the trail, respectively.
