This challenging hiking route will take you to Monte Pila, offering stunning views and interesting points of interest along the way. Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by the historic Madonnella wayside shrine and the impressive Castello di Roccaranieri castle, both located within the first 0.03 kilometers of the hike.
As you continue on, you will come across the Fonte Vecchia and another drinking water point, providing essential hydration for your journey. Around 0.08 kilometers into the hike, you can take a moment to enjoy the panoramic views from the Casarini and Case Colle viewpoints.
Midway through the hike, at around 5.89 kilometers, you will reach the peak of Monte Pila, where you can take in breathtaking vistas of the surrounding area. Along the trail, you will also encounter the Monumento ai Caduti in Guerra memorial, as well as benches for resting and soaking in the peaceful surroundings.
For those interested in history and nature, there are additional points of interest such as ruins at 0.35 kilometers and the Grottella de a' Madonna cave entrance at 4.31 kilometers.
