This challenging hiking route takes you to the beautiful area of Monte Pila, spanning a distance of 11.779 kilometers with an elevation gain of 412 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is 3 hours and 45 minutes.
As you start your journey, you will encounter the historic wayside shrine called Madonnella right at the beginning of the trail. Further along, at a distance of 0.03 kilometers from the start, you will find the impressive Castello di Roccaranieri.
For those looking to take a break or refuel, there are a couple of drinking water spots along the trail such as Fonte Vecchia and Roxy Bar. Additionally, there are benches available for resting, with some offering picturesque viewpoints like Casarini and Case Colle.
Midway through your hike, approximately 5.89 kilometers from the start, you will reach the peak of Monte Pila offering stunning panoramic views of the surroundings. Nearby, you will also come across the Monumento ai Caduti in Guerra, a memorial honoring the fallen soldiers of war.
As you continue your journey, you will pass by ruins and a cave entrance known as Grottella de a' Madonna. Towards the end of the trail, at approximately 4.22 kilometers from the start, you can enjoy the sight of the Cascatella waterfall.
