This extremely difficult hiking route will take you on a challenging journey through the stunning area surrounding Cascatella. With a total distance of 13.67 kilometers and an elevation gain of 419 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart.
Starting at the parking area, you will soon come across Fonte Vecchia, a drinking water spot that will be a welcome sight early on in your hike. As you continue along the trail, you will pass by Casello di Roccaranieri, a historic castle that stands 2.66 kilometers from the starting point.
Further along the route, you will encounter several viewpoints such as Casarini and Case Colle, offering breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape. A memorial, Monumento ai Caduti in Guerra, serves as a poignant reminder of the area's history and is located 2.66 kilometers from the start.
Midway through the hike, you will reach ruins like Ponte della Mola and Forra della Mola di Roccaranieri, providing a glimpse into the area's past. Grottella de a' Madonna, a cave entrance, and the stunning Cascatella waterfall are also highlights along the trail.
