This hiking route will take you through the breathtaking Hochebenkofel - Cima Piatta Alta area. The trail covers a distance of approximately 14 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1573 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will come across the stunning Mitteralpl See, a beautiful alpine lake located just 4.34 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. The tranquil waters of the lake provide a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.
Continuing on, you will reach the Lückeleschartl - Forcella del Lago saddle at around 5.49 kilometers from the start. This natural formation offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, making it a great place to stop and appreciate the beauty of the area.
As you approach the 7.01-kilometer mark, you will reach the Hochebenkofel - Cima Piatta Alta peak, the highlight of the hike. From here, you can enjoy sweeping vistas of the rugged landscape and feel a sense of accomplishment for reaching the summit.
On your way back, you will pass by a wayside cross located at approximately 5.49 kilometers from the start, adding a touch of historical significance to your journey.
