The Bonner Höhenweg is a challenging hiking route that spans 9.31 kilometers with an elevation gain of 385 meters. This out-and-back trail offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
Starting at the trailhead, you'll find convenient parking at the beginning of the route. As you make your way along the path, you'll encounter Thurntaler Rast, a restaurant located right on the trail, perfect for a pit stop before continuing your journey.
Around 1.13 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across a bar where you can grab a quick refreshment. Further along at 4.27 kilometers, there are information points to provide insights into the area's history and landmarks.
Midway through the hike at 4.6 kilometers, you'll find Kleiner See, a small lake just off the trail. This serene spot offers a peaceful place to rest and take in the natural beauty of the surroundings. Nearby, there are multiple water sources along the trail where you can refill your supplies.
As you near the end of the hike, approximately 4.66 kilometers in, there is another water source available for hikers. And at 4.64 kilometers, you'll find yet another water source to replenish your water bottles.
For a final stop before completing the route, at 4.71 kilometers, Gadein restaurant offers a chance to refuel before heading back.
