Welcome to the hiking route to Rocher de Lucet! This moderate 5.097 km out-and-back trail offers a beautiful trek through the stunning Haut-Languedoc region.
Starting at the trailhead, you will find informative signboards providing details about the circuit "Le Sommet du Caroux" and the circuit "Le Vialais". These will give you a good overview of what to expect on the hike. As you make your way along the trail, you will pass by the Hameau de Douch and can admire the artwork at Tête de Mouflon.
Throughout the hike, you will encounter several points of interest. At approximately 2.28 km from the start, you will find attractions such as Refuge Marcel Cèbe and others nearby like the Refuge de Font Salesse, which is about 2 km from the start of the trail. These are great spots to take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
As you continue, you will come across a wayside cross, a drinking water point, and a spring at various points along the trail. These are convenient stops to refill your water bottle and stay hydrated. At around 2.55 km into the hike, you will reach the peak of Rocher de Lucet, offering breathtaking views of the area. A perfect spot for a panoramic photo!
It is recommended to bring enough water for the hike, especially on warm days. Checking the weather forecast before heading out is also advisable. The trail has a total elevation gain of 170 meters, so be prepared for some uphill sections.
