This hike takes you to the stunning Pic d'Ansabère / Petrechema in the Pyrenees region. The trail is 10.409 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 1130 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.
Starting at Aire de Stationnement de Lamary, you will head towards the wilderness hut Cabane de Lamary located 0.48 kilometers from the start. This hut serves as a great resting spot for hikers. As you continue along the trail, you will come across the shelter Abri du Pla d'Escoueste at 1.58 kilometers from the start, a good place to take a break.
Further along the trail at 2.83 kilometers from the start, you will reach a shelter and an information point. This is a good spot to learn more about the surrounding peaks and refuel before continuing your journey. The wilderness hut Cabanes d'Ansabère is also located at this point, providing accommodation for hikers.
Continuing on, you will reach Col de Pétragème ou Port d'Anso at 4.52 kilometers from the start, offering breathtaking views of the area. Be sure to stop and take in the scenery before making your way to Grande aiguille d'Ansabère located 4.84 kilometers from the start.
Finally, at 5.2 kilometers from the start, you will reach the highlight of the hike, Pic d'Ansabère / Petrechema. This peak offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, making all the effort worth it.
