Welcome to the Lavarela de Fora hiking route, a challenging and extremely difficult 12.7-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 1517 meters.
Located in a picturesque area, this trail offers stunning views and a variety of points of interest to explore along the way.
At the beginning of the hike, you'll find parking facilities for your convenience. As you start your journey, be sure to check out the bench and wayside cross that are located just 290 meters from the trailhead.
As you continue along the trail, you'll come across an information point about 2.28 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to learn more about the area and its history.
Around the midway point of the hike, at approximately 4.41 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter Forcella de Medesc, a notable saddle in the natural landscape. Take a moment to appreciate the unique geological features of this area.
Further along the trail, at 5.99 kilometers from the start, you'll reach Piz de Lavarela, a peak offering breathtaking panoramic views.
Throughout the hike, you'll also find benches and information points to rest and gather more insights about the surroundings. There are also drinking water stations along the way to stay hydrated.
