This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning alpine landscapes and challenging terrain. The total distance of the hike is approximately 5.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of 910 meters, making it a difficult trail that will take around 3 and a half hours to complete.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by a parking area where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on the adventure. As you continue along the trail, about midway through your hike, you will come across the Ferrata Giuseppe Olivieri a Punta Anna, a popular via ferrata route that offers breathtaking views and a thrilling climbing experience.
Further along the trail, you will reach Rifugio Angelo Dibona, an alpine hut where you can rest and refuel before continuing your journey. Just under a kilometer away, you will also find Rifugio Pomedes, another alpine hut that offers accommodation and refreshments for hikers.
As you approach the endpoint of the hike, you will have the option to take a detour to Ferrata Gianni Aglio, which leads to Torre Aglio, a prominent peak in the area. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Throughout the hike, you will also come across informative signage that provides insights into the natural features and history of the area. Additionally, there are restaurants like Angelo Debona nearby where you can enjoy a meal after completing the hike.
Given the length and elevation gain of the trail, it is important to come prepared with proper hiking gear, sufficient water, and snacks. Checking the weather forecast before setting out is also recommended to ensure a safe and enjoyable hiking experience.
