This hiking route to Monte Castello is an extremely difficult 19.684-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 1099 meters. The total duration for this hike is estimated to be around 7 hours and 18 minutes.
The trail starts in a picturesque area with beautiful natural surroundings. Along the way, hikers will come across several points of interest.
At the beginning of the trail, there is a parking area available for hikers. After walking for about 0.2 kilometers, you will reach Capanna Alpina, a restaurant where you can take a break and grab something to eat.
Midway through the hike, at around 4.57 kilometers from the start, you will pass by Jù dal'Ega, a scenic saddle point. Further along the trail, at approximately 6.87 kilometers from the start, you will find ruins from the first World War, adding a historical touch to your journey.
Around the 9.84-kilometer mark, you will reach Bivacco della Pace, a shelter where you can rest and enjoy the surroundings. Monte Castello, a peak, is located at the end of the trail, approximately 9.84 kilometers from the start.
