This challenging hiking route will take you through the picturesque area surrounding Am hohen Kreuz. The trail covers a distance of 10.921 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1157 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike.

Starting at the parking area near Almi's Berghotel, you will make your way along the trail, passing by the tranquil Lichtsee at 2.66 kilometers from the start. This is a perfect spot to rest and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Further along the trail at 3.18 kilometers from the start, you will come across another water point before reaching the Wildbach Auffangbecken at 0.35 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break and admire the natural beauty of the area.

As you continue your ascent, you will reach the Trunajoch saddle at 3.19 kilometers from the start, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks. The trail then leads you to the Rötenspitze peak at 4.31 kilometers from the start, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the landscape.

Finally, the hike culminates at the Am hohen Kreuz peak at 5.46 kilometers from the start, offering breathtaking views as a reward for your effort. At the end of the trail, you can explore the nearby memorial before making your way back.
