This challenging 9.277-kilometer circular hiking route in the Pozo del Castillo - Canal de Arredondas area offers stunning views and diverse points of interest along the way.
Starting off at Jitu de Escarandi, you will find convenient parking to begin your adventure. As you progress, you will come across Refugio Casetón de Ándara situated at the 3.29-kilometer mark, offering a possible resting spot and accommodation with a fee.
Further along the trail at around 4.62 kilometers, you will encounter a refreshing water source. It is advisable to refill your water bottles here as you continue your journey.
At a distance of 3.66 kilometers from the start, you will find the intriguing Pozo del Compromiso cave entrance, followed by Torca de la Mazarrasa cave entrance at the 3.3-kilometer mark. These natural formations provide a unique aspect to the hike.
Exploring the historic aspect of the area, you will find ruins at various points along the hike, such as at the 3.91-kilometer and 3.78-kilometer marks. Information points are also scattered throughout the trail, offering insights into the surroundings.
The route includes several peaks and saddles, with Cueto de los Senderos, Cueto de la Cueva, and other peaks offering panoramic views along the way. Look out for Collado de la Aldea and Horcada de la Traslacueva saddles for scenic resting spots.
As you approach the end of the trail, approximately 1.16 kilometers in, you will encounter another peak and saddle, providing a final glimpse of the beautiful terrain before completing the circuit.
