This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area around Großer Daumen, offering stunning views and challenging terrain. With a total distance of 19.24 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1674 meters, this is considered an extremely difficult hike, suitable for experienced hikers.
Starting at the parking area near Säge, you will begin your journey towards Großer Daumen. Along the way, you will encounter various points of interest. About 5.9 kilometers from the start, you will come across a rock formation, adding to the natural beauty of the surroundings. As you continue, at around 6.09 kilometers, you'll find the peak of Rotspitze, offering panoramic views of the landscape.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 8.49 kilometers, you will reach Daumenzug, another notable rock formation worth exploring. Further ahead, at 9.45 kilometers, you'll have the opportunity to admire the peak of Kleiner Daumen, adding to the diverse scenery of the trail.
Throughout the hike, there are several information points and shelters available for hikers to rest and learn more about the area. It's advisable to carry an ample water supply and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging adventure.
