This challenging 5.865-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will lead you to the beautiful Lac du Léat. The trail begins at the parking area, which is conveniently located at the start of the route. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across several points of interest.
Early on in the hike, at about 0.05 kilometers from the start, you will find the informational point known as Merdaret where you can learn more about the area. Further along, at approximately 0.19 kilometers from the start, you will reach the informational point called Buclin.
About 2.0 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter the 1er Chalet de Tigneux, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings. As you continue on, at around 2.55 kilometers from the start, you will reach Le Crêt du Tambour, another informational point that offers insights into the area.
Midway through the hike, at 2.93 kilometers from the start, you will find the Chalet Hippolyte Chassande-Baroz, another wilderness hut where you can rest and refuel. Additionally, there is a spring located nearby at the same distance.
Finally, at 2.93 kilometers from the start, you will arrive at Lac du Léat, a picturesque water body that serves as the endpoint of the hike. Here, you can relax by the lake and take in the stunning views before heading back along the same trail.
With a total elevation gain of 676.0 meters, this hike is considered difficult and is best suited for experienced hikers.
