This extremely difficult 11.4 km out-and-back hiking route will take you through the picturesque area surrounding Lac Glacé. The trail offers a challenging elevation gain of 1443 meters, so be prepared for a strenuous trek.
As you start your journey, you'll come across the Premier chalet de la Grande Valloire, a wilderness hut located 3.29 km from the beginning of the trail. This is a great spot to take a break and admire the surrounding wilderness.
Continuing on, you'll pass by La Pierre du Carré and several information points providing interesting insights about the area. Make sure to keep an eye out for Chanier and Pierre du Gros Carré, which are historical landmarks located along the trail.
Around the midway point, at approximately 4.4 km from the start, you'll reach the ruins of Ruisseau de la Grande Valloire. Take some time to explore this historic site before pushing on towards Lac Blanc, located 4.4 km from the start, and Lac Noir, which is 4.93 km away.
Finally, the highlight of the hike is Lac Glacé, located 5.71 km from the start. This pristine alpine lake is a perfect spot to rest and enjoy the stunning natural beauty that surrounds you.
