Welcome to the hiking route to Monte Cornacchia, a challenging and extremely difficult trail spanning 15.178 kilometers with an elevation gain of 945 meters, taking approximately 5 hours and 52 minutes to complete.
The trail starts at a designated parking area at the base of Monte Cornacchia. As you begin your journey, you will pass by Tricaglio, a drinking water station conveniently located 1.26 kilometers from the start, ensuring you stay hydrated along the way.
Continuing on, at around 2.27 kilometers from the start, you will come across Rifugio Fonte Astuni, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. Further along the trail, at 4.74 kilometers, you will find Rifugio Collo dell'Orso, another alpine hut offering accommodation facilities for hikers.
As you approach the midway point of the hike, you will reach Monte Cornacchia, a notable peak standing at 7.59 kilometers from the start. Take in the breathtaking views and capture some memorable moments at this scenic spot.
On the way back, make a stop at Rifugio Coppo Dell'Orso, located 4.74 kilometers from the start, to rest and refuel before continuing your descent. Additionally, at 6.27 kilometers, you will encounter Cima dei Tre Confini, another peak showcasing the natural beauty of the area.
This out-and-back trail is not for the faint-hearted, with its steep inclines and rugged terrain, it is recommended to be well-prepared with proper hiking gear, sufficient water supply, and snacks.
