This challenging hiking route takes you to the stunning Rocca Turo area, offering breathtaking views and a great outdoor experience. The total distance of the hike is approximately 8.6 kilometers with an elevation gain of 924 meters, so be prepared for a strenuous journey.
Starting at the trailhead, you'll come across several points of interest along the way. Close to the beginning of the trail, you'll find Rifugio Città di Ciriè, a cozy alpine hut where you can rest and enjoy some refreshments. Further along, at around 0.55 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach Rocca Venoni, a notable rock formation worth checking out.
As you continue on, at the 3.88 kilometer mark, you'll come across Rifugio Bartolomeo Gastaldi, another alpine hut offering a pleasant spot to relax. Near the huts, there are also parking areas for your convenience.
About 4.3 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach Rocca Turo, a picturesque peak where you can take in panoramic views of the surroundings. Additionally, throughout the trail, you'll encounter various memorials, springs, and information points, adding cultural and natural elements to your adventure.
It's important to note that this is an out-and-back route, so you'll retrace your steps on the way back. Due to the length and elevation gain, this hike is considered difficult, so make sure to be well-prepared with proper gear, plenty of water, and snacks.
