You are about to embark on a challenging hike starting at Source and leading up to Pic de la Belle Étoile via the southern face. The route covers a distance of 11.105 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1150 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.

As you begin your journey, you will come across various points of interest along the trail. About 0.4 kilometers from the start, you will see the Monument aux Morts, a historic memorial. Further along the trail at 5.55 kilometers, you will find a natural water source, providing a refreshing spot to rest and replenish your supplies.

Along the way, you will encounter several information points, parking areas, and even a restaurant for sustenance. Be sure to take a moment to appreciate the Wayside Shrine located 0.03 kilometers from the start, adding a cultural touch to your hike.

As you continue your ascent, you will reach Sous le Pas du Pin at 4.04 kilometers, offering a scenic spot to pause and take in the surroundings. The trail will test your endurance, but the breathtaking views from Pic de la Belle Étoile make it all worth it.
