This hiking route will take you through the stunning area surrounding Seestutz. The trail covers a distance of 13.055 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1503 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers. It is recommended to start early and pack plenty of water and snacks for the day.
As you begin your journey, you will come across the Gemmi Luftseilbahn, a popular attraction only 80.77 meters from the trail. Along the way, there are several parking areas available for convenience. After about 6.53 kilometers, you will reach a water source, perfect for refilling your water bottles.
Midway through the hike, you will encounter picnic sites where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings. Around the 5.52-kilometer mark, you'll find the site of the annual Sheep festival, a must-see attraction with unique cultural significance.
Further along the trail, at a distance of 3.83 kilometers, you'll come across the cave entrance known as alpha 2. This natural wonder is a great spot to explore and take some unforgettable photos. Additionally, at 3.96 kilometers, there is a viewpoint that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the area.
As you near the end of the trail, at 3.33 kilometers, you'll find the peak called Daube, although it is slightly off the main path. There are also information points scattered along the route, providing insights into the area's history and geography.
At the turnaround point, you'll reach Seestutz, where you can rest and refuel at the Walliserstube restaurant before heading back.
