This extremely difficult 12.092-kilometer out-and-back hiking route starts at the Source - Tartera destination. The area offers stunning natural beauty and challenging terrain for experienced hikers.
Along the trail, you will encounter various points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, you will find a parking area for your convenience. About 0.63 kilometers into the hike, there is the Refuge de la Jaceta, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
As you continue, approximately 2.05 kilometers from the start, you will come across a picnic site where you can rest and refuel. Further ahead, at around 3.34 kilometers, you will see the memorial for the Avalanche that occurred on April 27, 1979.
About halfway through the hike, at 6.05 kilometers from the start, you will find a water feature marking a scenic spot to relax and take in the views. Additionally, at 2.08 kilometers, there is the Cabane de La Jaça de Llosa wilderness hut, providing accommodation options for overnight stays.
It is recommended to bring plenty of water, snacks, and to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging hike due to its 677 meters of elevation gain. Remember to stay on the designated trail and be prepared for a strenuous but rewarding adventure in the great outdoors.
