Along the way, you will pass by the Refuge de Varan, a cozy alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments. This refuge is located about 2.1 kilometers from the start of the trail.

For those interested in climbing, you will find the Cascade de Zeta, a popular climbing spot, approximately 1.26 kilometers into the hike. This is a great opportunity for more experienced climbers to test their skills.

As you continue on the trail, you will also come across several drinking water stations, benches for resting, and informative signposts providing interesting facts about the area. These are great spots to take a breather and take in the surroundings.

The highlight of the hike is reaching the Aiguille de Varan, a stunning peak located about 4.62 kilometers from the start of the trail. The breathtaking views from the top make the arduous journey worth it.

With a total distance of 9.243 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1410 meters, this hike is considered extremely difficult. It is important to be well-prepared with proper hiking gear, plenty of water, and snacks for energy.

Before embarking on this adventure, make sure to check the weather forecast and plan accordingly. This out-and-back route will take approximately 5 hours and 39 minutes to complete, so be sure to allocate enough time for your hike.
