Sentiero Cisternazza

This hiking route takes you on a 7.327-kilometer circular journey through the scenic area of Sentiero Cisternazza. With an elevation gain of 703 meters, this route is classified as difficult and is expected to take approximately 3 hours and 27 minutes to complete.

As you begin your hike, you will pass by some interesting points of interest. At the starting point, you will find Esagonal, a restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat before embarking on your adventure. Further along the trail, you will come across Terrazza dell'Etna, another restaurant offering stunning views of the surroundings. As you continue on, you will also encounter Monte Gebel, another dining option for hikers looking to refuel.

During your journey, you will have the opportunity to explore Montagnola, a volcano known for its unique geological features. Additionally, you will pass by several viewpoints such as Bar La Montagnola and Mount Etna Base, where you can pause to take in the breathtaking scenery.

For those in need of a break, there are parking spaces available at various points along the trail, as well as informational resources at Mount Etna Base. Make sure to check out Altare Madonna della neve, a wayside shrine located midway through the hike.

As you make your way back to the starting point, consider stopping by Bar Rifugio Sapienza for a refreshing beverage.
