Welcome to the hiking route from Plataforma to La Mira and back! This challenging out-and-back trail spans a distance of 8.864 kilometers with an elevation gain of 374 meters, taking approximately 2 hours and 59 minutes to complete.

The journey begins at La Plataforma, where you can find parking to leave your vehicle before setting off. As you start your hike, you'll come across the Refugio Chozo de Prao Puerto wilderness hut approximately 1.99 kilometers from the start, providing a resting spot for weary hikers. Along the way, you'll also pass by a shelter and a biergarten, perfect for a quick break or snack.

One of the notable attractions on this route is La Plataforma de Gredos, located 0.19 kilometers from the start. As you continue on, you'll encounter several peaks such as Risco del Faccioso, with stunning views waiting to be discovered. Make sure to stop and take in the scenery as you reach the various peaks along the trail, including those at 4.0, 4.43, 4.26, 4.13, 3.66, 3.78, and 4.35 kilometers from the start.

For nature enthusiasts, there are also saddles to explore, with one located at 2.51 kilometers from the start and another at 4.1 kilometers. Keep in mind that some of the peaks and saddles may be slightly off the main trail, but worth the extra effort for the panoramic views they offer.

As you trek through this rugged terrain, be prepared for a difficult hike due to the length and elevation gain involved. Remember to bring an ample water supply, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before heading out.
