This extremely difficult 14.5-kilometer hiking route will take you through the picturesque area of Varadega. The route is an out-and-back trail with a total elevation gain of 1245 meters, making it a challenging adventure for experienced hikers.
Starting at the parking area, you will make your way towards Passo del Mortirolo, a saddle located 0.48 kilometers from the starting point. As you continue along the trail, you will encounter several points of interest including the peak of Varadega at 7.25 kilometers from the start, and the wayside shrine of Santella di San Carlo at 0.04 kilometers from the start.
Throughout the hike, you will pass by various landmarks such as the Uli Stanciu "primi 60 anni" information point, a restaurant called Albergo Passo Mortirolo, and multiple memorial sites that offer glimpses into the area's historic significance.
For a quick break, there are benches along the trail where you can rest and enjoy the surrounding views. Remember to stay hydrated by refilling your water bottles at the drinking water point located 0.04 kilometers from the start.
As you reach the peak of Piz delle Casùce at 1.9 kilometers from the start, take in the sweeping vistas before retracing your steps back to the trailhead.
