Welcome to the Varadega hiking route! This 14.5-kilometer trail is an extremely difficult trek with an elevation gain of 1245 meters, so be sure to come prepared for a challenging adventure.
The trail starts at a parking area and leads you through stunning natural landscapes. As you make your way along the route, you'll come across various points of interest, offering glimpses into the area's history and natural beauty.
About 7.25 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach Varadega, a scenic peak that provides breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area. This is a great spot to take a break and soak in the stunning vistas.
Further along the trail, at around 0.48 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter Passo del Mortirolo, a picturesque saddle that adds to the charm of the journey. Additionally, be on the lookout for Passo di Varadega, a saddle located about 4.67 kilometers from the start.
As you continue on, you'll pass by Uli Stanciu "primi 60 anni" information point, a wayside shrine, and the Albergo Passo Mortirolo restaurant, offering opportunities to learn more about the area and enjoy some local cuisine.
Throughout the hike, you'll also find several memorials, drinking water spots, benches for resting, and informational points to enhance your experience and provide useful resources.
