This hiking route takes you through the scenic Detroit Zoo area on West 10 Mile Road. The route is an out-and-back type, covering a total distance of 3.084 kilometers with no elevation gain, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
As you start your hike, you'll pass by Pierson Lake, about 1.46 kilometers from the trailhead. Along the way, you'll come across Boardwalk Station and the Jane and Frank Warchol Beaver Habitat, both located about 0.86 kilometers from the start.
