Welcome to the hiking route to אגם תמנע (Agam Timna)!
This challenging out-and-back trail spans a distance of approximately 22.6 kilometers with an elevation gain of 102 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers. The estimated duration for this hike is about 5 hours and 30 minutes.
The trail starts at a parking area conveniently located at the beginning of the route. As you embark on your journey, you will come across various points of interest. Approximately 0.76 kilometers into the hike, you will find another parking area. As you continue, at around 0.31 kilometers from the start, there is another parking spot available.
Around midway through the hike, at a distance of 11.12 kilometers from the start, you will encounter a picturesque picnic site where you can take a break and enjoy some snacks. Close by, at 11.17 kilometers, you'll find the אוהל מועד (Ohel Moed) attraction, which requires a fee for entry and has specific opening hours - be sure to plan your visit accordingly.
For those interested in history, at 0.66 kilometers into the hike, you will come across the DC-4 monument. Additionally, there is an information sign labeled שלט מבואה תמנע אילת near the 11.23 kilometer mark that provides insights into the area.
As you near אגם תמנע (Agam Timna) located at 11.32 kilometers from the start, you will find a drinking water facility and a restaurant, חאן המלך שלמה (Khan HaMelech Shlomo), where you can refuel and hydrate before continuing your journey.
