This hiking route takes you to the beautiful area of Hochstein, where you will enjoy stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The route is an out-and-back type with a total distance of 2.146 kilometers and an elevation gain of 69 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Parkplatz Hochstein-Hütte parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. About 0.43 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Hochsteinhütte, a restaurant and alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy some local cuisine.
Further along the trail, at around 0.46 kilometers from the start, you will find a drinking water station to refill your water bottles. Continuing on, at 1.07 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Hochstein peak, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Along the way, you will also come across several historic sites, including wayside crosses, adding a cultural aspect to your hike. Be sure to take breaks at the benches scattered along the trail, providing a perfect spot to rest and take in the scenery.
