This extremely difficult hiking route takes you on an out-and-back journey along the GR-74 trail in Soba. With a total distance of 16.802 kilometers and an elevation gain of 693 meters, this hike will test your endurance and skill.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by various points of interest along the way. Approximately 2.25 kilometers into the hike, you will come across a parking area for buses and vehicles. As you continue on, at around 1.19 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Mirador Nacimiento del Asón, offering a stunning viewpoint of the area.
Further along the trail, at the 2.65-kilometer mark, you will find information points providing insight into the surroundings. Around 6.07 kilometers into the hike, there is another information point, followed by more at 4.71 kilometers and 7.74 kilometers from the start.
For a refreshing break, at approximately 2.77 kilometers into the hike, you will encounter the Fuente Bezón spring. As you progress, at 6.01 kilometers and 8.4 kilometers from the start, you will have the opportunity to explore peaks in the area.
At the midway point, 0.47 kilometers in, you can explore the Cueva Nacimiento del Rio Ason before continuing on the trail. Additionally, at this point, there is Torca del Sol cave entrance for further exploration.
Throughout the hike, you will also pass by various viewpoints, including Mirador del Asón at 0.02 kilometers and Collado de Asón Alt.682m at 2.06 kilometers from the start.
It is important to note that there are parking areas and shelters along the route for your convenience. As this is an extremely difficult hike, proper preparation is essential. Be sure to bring an adequate water supply, wear appropriate hiking gear, and check the weather forecast before setting out.
