Welcome to the Kötzermahd hiking route! This challenging 6.672-kilometer out-and-back trail offers stunning views and a variety of points of interest along the way.

The hike begins with a gentle ascent, passing by several natural water sources where you can fill up your water bottle. At the beginning of the trail, you will find a beautiful water feature just 0.15 kilometers from the starting point. As you continue, you'll come across more water sources at 0.19 kilometers and 0.25 kilometers from the start.

Midway through the hike, around the 3.34-kilometer mark, you will encounter another picturesque water feature. Take a moment to rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before heading back.

For those looking to grab a meal or snack after the hike, the Fischerhütte restaurant is located 0.15 kilometers from the start, offering a wheelchair-accessible dining option.

As you near the end of the trail, you'll pass by a zoo at 0.04 kilometers from the starting point. Further along, at 0.32 kilometers, you can explore a scenic waterfall off the main trail.

Parking is available at two separate locations along the route, with one lot just 0.04 kilometers from the start and the other right at the trailhead.

With an elevation gain of 666 meters, this hike is classified as difficult and is best suited for experienced hikers. Be sure to bring plenty of water, wear appropriate footwear, and check the weather forecast before setting out.
