This challenging 9-kilometer hike at Fonti Di Castellone will take you through beautiful natural landscapes and historical landmarks. Starting at the parking area, you will follow a circular route that includes a total elevation gain of 537 meters.
Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest. About 1.2 kilometers from the start, you'll come across a picnic site where you can take a break and enjoy some snacks. Further along the trail, at a distance of 3.92 kilometers from the start, you'll find the historic wayside cross, Monte Pizzone.
Be sure to stay hydrated during your hike by filling up your water bottles at the Acqua Valle Perti drinking water station, located 3.1 kilometers from the start. For more water, you can also visit the Fonte dell'Acquicciola fountain at 1.55 kilometers from the start.
As you continue on the trail, you'll pass by a cave entrance at 2.71 kilometers and a viewpoint at 2.87 kilometers from the start, offering stunning views of the surrounding area. Additionally, at around 4.31 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter the peaks of Monte Erdigheta and another cave entrance.
