Welcome to the Fort Mountain Lake hiking route! This 13.65-kilometer out-and-back trail offers stunning views and exciting features along the way.

Starting at the parking lot (0.0 km), hikers will make their way towards the trailhead, passing by an information point with interesting facts about the area right at the beginning of the route. As you venture further into the hike, you'll come across Backcountry Campsite #2 (5.35 km), providing a great spot to rest and enjoy the surroundings.

Continuing on, you'll reach Fort Mountain Scenic Overlook (3.15 km), offering a panoramic view of the landscape. Be sure to check it out before heading back. Further along the trail, you'll find Fort Mountain Lake (6.83 km) and a beach area (6.83 km), perfect for a refreshing break or some relaxation by the water.

Throughout the hike, there are also several parking areas located at convenient intervals, making it easy to access the trail. However, do remember to bring enough water and snacks for the journey, as well as checking the weather forecast before embarking on this extremely difficult hike due to its length and elevation gain of 456 meters.
