This challenging hiking route takes you along the Chemin de Banasse, offering stunning views of the surrounding area. The total distance of the trail is approximately 10.977 kilometers with an elevation gain of 640 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take around 4 hours and 8 minutes to complete.
Starting at the parking area located at the beginning of the trail, you will pass by a information point (Jalon) right at the start, where you can gather useful information about the area. As you continue on the trail, you will come across the ruins of Cabane de Larrecq, adding a historical element to your hike.
Further along the trail, you will encounter Cabane Pacheu and Cabane de Gourgue Sec, providing shelters along the way. These spots can be great places to take a break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Additionally, Laquet de Gourgue Sec and other water sources will be available for you to replenish your water supply, but remember to bring enough water with you as well.
As you reach the midway point of the hike, you will come across Cabane de Gourgue Sec, perfect for a rest before heading back. The trail also passes by the information point of Limite Parc, where you can learn more about the park boundaries and regulations.
Before embarking on this hike, make sure to check the weather forecast and pack plenty of water and snacks. The route is an out-and-back trail, so you will retrace your steps to return to the starting point.
