This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route follows the Autoroute de la Maurienne in a 17.051-kilometer journey with an elevation gain of 33 meters. The hike is expected to take about 4 hours and 1 minute to complete.
Starting at the parking area, you will embark on this challenging trek that offers stunning natural beauty and various points of interest along the way. About 6.08 kilometers into the hike, you will come across another parking area, where you can take a short break if needed.
Around the 8.06-kilometer mark, you will encounter a water feature known as Lac Vert, providing a serene spot to rest and enjoy the surroundings. Further along the trail, you will pass by several other water points, such as L'Arc and Les Lacs de Maurienne, perfect for refilling your water supply.
At the midway point, approximately 7.91 kilometers into the hike, you will find another picturesque water source, offering a refreshing stop before continuing your journey. As you make your way back, be sure to check out the shelter facilities located at 5.31 kilometers into the hike, providing a convenient place to rest and have a snack.
Throughout the hike, you will also encounter other interesting points of interest, including a beach at 6.27 kilometers and a memorial site featuring the Turbine Pelton at 6.01 kilometers.
